Area Committee boost for local groups

More than £3000 in community grants was awarded to seven groups at the most recent Clydesdale Area Committee.
The cash will boost a variety of groups and interests across Clydesdale, each designed to help build caring, sustainable, connected communities or to inspire learning and strengthen partnerships.
The full list of recipients is:
- 2nd Lanark Scout Group – £350 for equipment
- Lesmahagow Parish Historical Association - £475 for equipment
- Coalburn Brass Band Family – £325 for materials
- Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes – £600 for equipment
- Coulter WRI – £300 for an outing
- Lanark Amateur Musical Society – £600 for administration and publicity costs
- Tolbooth Lanark – £600 for equipment
The community grants scheme was established and is run by the council.
Support can be provided for everything from excursions and entrance fees to admin and start-up costs and special events.
